Time just seems to fly, but the memories remain.

April is speeding by me.  I thought the month has just started, but the next thing I know, we’re all getting ready for May.  I spent the last weekend in March in San Luis Obispo at a Salsa dancing event at Cal Poly SLO, Easter weekend on a road trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, followed by a business trip to the Bay area in California, the next weekend with some rest, but I’m back in Los Angeles this past weekend.  This month has flown by so fast, no… not only this month, this year. A friend, who is still back in school, told me “Wow, it’s almost has been a year since you graduated.” I’ve changed, since the day I’ve graduated, and I hope that my time has been well spent. It’s almost mid-year, and there’s business to take care of.

So here’s a recap since my update back in “who-knows-when (ages ago).”  I just gotten back from SLO town with a weekend full of Salsa Dancing.  One thing I’ve learned about dancing, the female follow steps are pretty simple, you just gotta make it look good.  The female follows in Salsa just follows the male lead, she responds only to how he moves.  The hardest is for the male leads to come up with all the fancy moves. I found dancing to pretty simple, just don’t mess up the lead.  That’s probably why I started liking dancing more, I found out that it was pretty easy on the girls part.  First day into SLO, I danced until the late night, the second day, we took a hike out into the valleys.  It was really neat because you can hike up into the mountains starting from the park that we were in, and you see horses along the way (no wonder Cal Poly’s mascot is the Mustang).

Throughout the park there were Frisbee goal posts for Disc golf, which is literally golf but played with a Frisbee.  Pretty neat, that’s the first time I’ve heard of the sport.  I got too enthusiastic, and lost one of my friend’s disc in the long grass.  Well now I know what sport I shouldn’t play too often.

Easter weekend, I had a day off work for holiday, and I took an extra day off to take a real vacation road trip.  The Grand Canyon!  My first road trip that I driven out of state (not with my parents doing all the driving).  The truth was that it wasn’t too bad of a drive (especially when you’ve got music to keep you going).  We hiked the rim trail the first day; it was about sundown, temperature was dropping, and it was getting really cold.  Checking the weather, the temperature was getting high as 25C midday, but can go as low as -3C at night.  We even saw little snow when hiking (mostly ice).  We were on the south rim, the rim trail was pretty easy, because it was paved, not exactly a real hike.  Here’s a few photos from the rim trail:

The next day we hiked the Bright Angel Trail, about 5 miles down, and then back up, total of 10 miles.  I was beat afterwards, (my boss was making fun of me when I told him the distance of my hike).  It’s about 18 miles hike down to the Colorado river, and going down is the easy part.  Next time I’m going to the Grand Canyon, it will be all the way down to the river.  If you hike down to the bottom, it’s recommended that you spend the night at the bottom, and hike back up the next day.  It’s literally not possible because you can die of exhaustion (hypothermia).  It takes twice as long to go up, after going down. They don’t call it the Grand Canyon for no reason.

Well, I’m tired from driving so much these past few weeks, and I have work tomorrow, so there’ll be more to come later.  Stay tuned!
