Two weeks after graduation I’m going to Anime expo 2011 to see Kalafina live!  I was actually going for Yuki Kaijura, since she is my most favorite composer… ever!  She composed all the music for the band, and shes a legend for some video game soundtracks like Xenosaga II and III, and her recent work, the soundtrack for Puella Magi Madoka Magica.  I recently got into this series after hearing Kalafina’s newest hit single, Magia. I’m even cosplaying Sayaka Miki from the series!

Cosplay: Sayaka Miki

My first time cosplaying.  I put together my entire costume from scratch (fabric wise).  It was an entire 4 days of sewing, and I will never touch a sewing machine again.  here’s how it turned out:

I didn’t really go for the anime expo itself… just the concert, so i didn’t really do any of the special events they put on, except walk around in the exhibition hall, and buying some stuff.  The concert was amazing.  The other Mahou Shojos I was cosplaying with were also all Kalafina fans, and were crying tears of joy at the concert.  Some people get too emotional sometimes, but it’s all in good fun!  I wasn’t allowed to take photos during the concert, but I did sneak a photo of them during the question and answer panel:

It was very interesting being a cosplayer, I felt like a movie star.  Everywhere I’d go, people would ask me for a photo.  Well I was traveling in a large group of Mahou Shojos from the same anime, so we were stopped for random photos very often.  By the end of the day, I was so sick of paparazzis:
