The Palace of Versailles used to be the center of political power in France in 1682 where Louis XIV moved in until the French Revolution in 1789.  It is a symbol of the Ancien Régime.  Anyways… everyone knows how important this place is in history.  But elaborate? Yes!  it’s a very beautiful palace with lots of water fountains and well maintained gardens.
There are gates of GOLD out in the front!  I just think that’s overkill…
